Aren't you a little young for hot flashes?

Annabelle has had a minor cold for about 3 weeks now. Yesterday though, things took a turn for the worse. We noticed that she was a bit warm and so we took her temperature.

Aside from that, she's had a thick cough for a day or two and so we felt that a call to the doctor was entirely appropriate. Dr. Lyons called us back quickly and was great, even on a Sunday. He basically said that it sounded like it might be an ear infection, common for babies, and to come on in on Monday if the fever persisted. So, over the night, Annabelles temperature yo-yo'ed up and down, ranging between 97 and 103.1 degrees. Generally, it would inch up and then we'd giver her some baby Tylenol and it would swing back down.

Obviously, this warranted a trip to the Doctor on Monday. Sure enough, after a Monday filled with nasty fluids and a fevery baby Nikki left early and took Annie to see Dr Lyons. And, sure enough, it's an ear infection.

So, now, Annie has a 10 day serving of Amoxycilian and should hopefully be on the mend in time for her first Thanksgiving. Until then, we have an exhausted baby with random hot flashes. To her credit though, she's been pretty good humored. She's still been laughing when daddy tickles her and grins like an idiot when mommy laughs at her.

Yeah, she's a pretty good kid...
