She's climbing

Last weekend Nikki and I had plans for our first weekend away from Annabelle. On Friday, Feb 23, we headed up to Oshkosh, WI to drop Annie, Asta, and Ruby off at Jim & Karen's house (Nik's parents). Now, I won't spend too much time of the first separatation because it was largely a non-event. Annabelle did great and so did Nikki and I. We only called to check on her a few times during the day. Annie, for her part, only looked around for us when she woke up but was too busy terrorizing the dogs and the grandparents to give it too much thought.

The exciting part was that she discovered that she likes to climb stairs. She's SOOOOO close to walking, but we found that give her a staircase and she'll tear right up them just that fast. It was really amazing to watch. This is the first time she's ever given any indication that she wanted to climb, much less be actually able to do it! Sure enough, she eyeballed the stairs, crawled right over to them and didn't even blink an eye. She just swung her right knee up and away she went. Luckily, we live in a 1 floor apartment, so we don't have to worry about it too much, but it only spells trouble for the years to come :)
