Hey kid - slow down!

Annabelle has officially decided that since she can now crawl, she may as well freak mommy out and start standing and climbing in her crib. That's right, Monday night Annie woke up around 11:00 p.m. hollering and carrying on, and by the time I got to her room, she had pulled herself to standing and was holding onto the side of her crib as she yelled for me. Now on the one hand seeing her little face peak over the crib was totally adorable, but on the other hand, I am so not ready for her to be this mobile yet. I can handle the crawling, but hey honey, slow down a bit - no need to rush towards walking! It's like once she figured out the crawling thing she was bored already and wanted to move onto the next developmental milestone. It's a very exciting time and she provides Sam and I will endless amounts of entertainment, but man - this first year of her life is truly flying by.

All in all though she seems to be doing wonderfully. She gets lots of colds from sticking every dirty thing out there in her mouth, but she is really a very happy and active baby. She sleeps so much better now then she did a few months ago - she wakes a little early for my comfort (4:45 am today) but she finds the world so exciting right now - what are you gonna do?

We celebrated an early Christmas with my family this past weekend and this coming weekend we will be in Gary for Christmas with Grandpops and Grandmum Spicer. What kept Annabelle entertained this past weekend? A paper bag. We told Steve and Cara to have some paper bags on hand for Christmas. Such cheap entertainment will only please her for so long, so we will take advantage of it while we can.

One last bit of news: she says momma and dadda often - but everything is momma and dadda - the dogs, her hand, dirt on the floor...alas, recognition of those words as being Sam and I is still yet to come.
